Curry’s is proud to announce that it played a helping hand in the development of the forthcoming release of Microsoft’s Xbox 360’s “Forza Motorsports 2” racing simulation game. In conjunction with At Speed Motorsports, Volvo and Microsoft Games Studios, Curry’s provided use of their all wheel drive Mustang dyno for At Speed Motorsport’s Speed World Challenge Volvo S60 R race car. Curry’s all wheel drive Mustang dyno was used for tuning and also to provide sound clips for the upcoming Xbox 360 game.
Forza Motorsports 2 is the sequel to the wildly popular Forza Motorsports original release which featured incredibly realistic racing at some of the world’s top motoring circuits along with some of the world’s most popular racing cars from various series. This year’s sequel will include a host of Speed World Challenge race cars including the Volvo S60 R.
The S60 R is powered by a 2.5 liter 5-cylinder turbocharged engine built by Cosworth Engines and Mahle in England. The car has upgraded Moton remote reservoir shocks, Alcon 6 piston calipers, and huge 315 series 18 inch race tires. The car is being campaigned this season by At Speed Motorsports and driven by multiple Speed World Challenge Champion Michael Galati. Galati piloted the Volvo S60 R to victory in its most recent race at Mosport lapping all but one car in during the rain drenched race.
Curry’s was chosen by both Microsoft and At Speed Motorsports for their all wheel drive Mustang dyno and wealth of high performance experience. In conjunction with Curry’s technicians, At Speed Motorsports crew, and two engineers from England, the team spent the day at Curry’s Dulles location for tuning and sound clips for the video game.
